United Airlines Tech Outage Halts Operations Nationwide

United Airlines, in a major tech outage, temporarily halted nationwide flights on Wednesday, affecting hundreds of flights and thousands of passengers. 

United Airlines issued a ground stop across all of its major hubs in the United States to address the technical issues. The technical outage was caused by a 'weight and balance computer system' issue. The airline also confirmed that it was not a result of the cyberattack. It ended the early round of speculation of a possible cyberattack on United Airlines. 

United Airlines issued a press statement and highlighted the intensity of their effort to get planes taken off. The airlines highlighted: Our top priority is security at this time, and we'll work with our customers to get them to their destinations.

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), in a decisive drive across all major hubs, prevented the flights from taking off. On the other side of the 'technical issue,' passengers suffered lengthy delays, and flight cancellations were high.

The technology infrastructure has raised serious concerns in the aviation sector in recent times. This time, it issued a red flag on the levels of dependence we have come to rely on. United Airlines later confirmed that the issue has been resolved. The flight operations went back to normal.
