American Airlines is expanding into Europe again. Three new nonstop routes from Philadelphia and a long-awaited return to Iceland. The spring of 2027 will be big and memorable for American travelers.

Big Plans for Europe and Asia

Philadelphia is only the beginning of the aggressive seven-route global push for summer 2027. The expansion plans have a grand Asian vision with a new Chicago (ORD)–Tokyo (NRT) link. The new European connectivity routes feature JFK–Amsterdam, JFK–Nice, and Charlotte–Barcelona. American is reinforcing the JFK–London Heathrow with four daily frequencies.
