Air India gets a new CEO Change

Air India stated that Tewolde Gebremariam is counted among the world's most successful aviation leaders. He led the Ethiopian Airlines Group for over a decade, transforming it into one of Africa's largest, most profitable, and most prestigious airline groups.

Announcing the appointment, Air India's Board of Directors stated that the company is moving beyond the initial phase of turnaround and integration into a new phase focused on rapid growth, improved operations, and profitability; in this context, Tewolde Gebremariam's experience could play a pivotal role in taking the airline to new heights.

 

 

Air India stated that Tewolde Gebremariam is counted among the world's most successful aviation leaders. He led the Ethiopian Airlines Group for over a decade, transforming it into one of Africa's largest, most profitable, and most prestigious airline groups.

Under his leadership, Ethiopian Airlines' business grew manifold. The company's revenue more than quadrupled, while the size of its aircraft fleet nearly tripled. He not only expanded the airline but also strengthened aircraft maintenance (MRO) operations, training facilities, and the global hub network.
